My career journey of 32 years as a hairstylist has been an amazing one. There are so many people along the way that taught me, encouraged, supported and believed in me. I could take up pages mentioning them all, I sincerely thank every one of them.

Right after high school, I started beauty school in Good land, Kansas. I graduated in May of 1992 and got my first job in Dodge City, Kansas. That was a short stay and I decided to move to Denver, Colorado. Now, if you would have told me all the things I would achieve in my nineteen years with Cost Cutters, I would have thought you were crazy. I loved every minute I was there.

I was a full-time hair stylist the whole nineteen years. Then was involved with their education department seventeen of those years, and also managed two of their salons for thirteen years.

My two favorite places I spent most of my time was behind the chair cutting, styling, coloring, and perming my client's hair; and teaching hands-on classes to other stylists.

My advanced education started with Cost Cutters National Design Team. That opened the door for name to become a Senior Paul Mitchell Advisor for fifteen years within the Regis Corporation. I was trained by some of Paul Mitchell's top educators in their latest products, styling, cutting, and coloring techniques. Then, they taught us how to teach others what we had learned. I taught in my local market of 80 stores and in multiple states as well. It was so rewarding helping other stylists grow.

Because of all of my time teaching with Paul Mitchell, I earned the position of Education Director for all the Cost Cutters in Denver for the last seven years I was with them.

But there was one dream I hadn't tried yet, owning my own salon. With the help and hard work of many that love me, I opened Kathy's Corner Salon in May of  2012!

Anyone that has owned their own business understands the challenges that come with this dream. But the rewards that come with it, are worth it. The knowledge I brought with me has kept my salon operating and growing these thirteen years. The main reason for it's success though is the community of Flagler and the surrounding communities that have supported me. I am so grateful for all of you!

The only piece missing was helping others grow in the beauty industry, I've missed that. Along came my current nail technichian, Alyssa Beyers. I am so excited to have her in the salon, it has been such a treat having her here!

Thank you again for your support, and for stopping by my website. See you at your next appointment!

Sincerely,

Kathy
